5 Steps to a Morning Quiet Time

Build your faith Crazy faith Morning quiet time Quiet time Quiet time with God

Are you in to the new year and you're finding it hard to stick to a morning quiet time routine? One of the things that has helped me the most, is making it a priority and then keeping it simple. Hopefully these tips will help you too. Here's my 5 tips to a morning quiet time.

#1. Make a promise to yourself, & keep it, that you will make time with God the first thing each day. Then, grab a favorite chair, get still & quiet. "Be still and know that I am God." -Psalm 46:10

#2. Use a devotional to guide your study. Truepost  has some great topic based devotionals that are perfect for those just getting started, but this is one of my personal favorites https://truepostinc.com/collections/scripture-devotional-card-sets/products/praying-your-way-through-scripture-devotional-card-set. Focus on just one scripture at a time, by recording the scripture in your journal. Read it to yourself and ask God to help you understand what HE wants you to get from that scripture. Write in your journal what you are learning. "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." -Colossians 3:2

#3. Pray. "I call on YOU, my God, for YOU will answer me; turn YOUR ear to me and hear my prayer." -Psalm 17:6

#4 Have crazy faith! Believe that God will show up in your quiet time and help you understand HIS truths. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see," -Hebrews 11:1

#5 Repeat! When you repeat this process each day, you'll find you'll begin developing a much stronger relationship with God. One that's very personal and you simply won't want to start the day, without having your quiet time first!
