Push Towards, Not Away

Build relationships Crazy political posts emotional bank account Faith Negative social media posts Pointing towards faith Rethink negativity Truepost

I've been thinking a lot about this lately, as I've just seen so many negative, nasty posts out on social media. Posts that make me sad quite frankly!

In this crazy political season, if you really think that you're going to sway someone's opinion with a social media post, you might want to rethink that.We tend to listen to people that we have built relationships with. Not people that every now and then show up in our news feed, or on one of our posts, with the goal of educating us with their personal opinions.

I'll give you an example. I have a really good friend whom we are complete opposites. We have different political parties, we are a different religion, she's from the north and I'm from the south. Everything about our background is different. And I must say, we have pretty heated discussions about politics and everything else! However, we listen to each other and learn from each other because we've built up that emotional bank account. We truly care about each other! Her opinion matters to me and my opinion matters to her, because we've put in the time to build a relationship. And we've learned how to forgive each other when one or the other is on the wrong side of right. /collections/scripture-devotional-card-sets/products/forgiveness-scripture-devotional-cards

During this challenging political season, instead of putting negativity out there, that might push someone away from faith. I want to pull them towards it instead. How awesome could our county be if we had an approach that got us taking the time to get to know people, got us asking questions and most importantly, got us building relationships with others? I think this approach would put us in a much better position to share our opinions and actually have someone listen to them.

I have learned so much from people that are different from me and I truly believe that we can get to a much better place in our country, when we listen and exchange ideas, instead of trying to educate others with our personal opinions.

I want to bring people towards faith and not push them away. If you feel the same way, share my blog and let's begin a movement this political season to push people towards faith and not away!
